Oblt. Burghardt?? II./KG 200 loss of Feb 3rd 1945
Hi, guys.
According to GenQu6Abt II./KG 200 lost a FW 190A8 on this day near Hagenow. The pilot is given as Otto Burghardt, but in my list the surname is stricken and a new name written in pencil or ink, which I cannot read. Has anyone got further information?? Regards, Andreas |

Hello Andreas!
The name was changed to Burkhard. It is written with pencil above the old name. Regards Dirk |

Hi Andreas,
Oblt. Otto Burkhard was one of the pilots from KG30 attached to the 6./KG200. He was shot down while a formation of three Mistels was jumped by P-51s from the 55th FG, which were looking for targets of oppertunety on their return flight from an escort mission over Berlin. I guess that Burkhard together with Obgefr. Joachim Uhlig and Obfw. Arnold Klähn (both form KG30, also attached to 6./KG200), flew possible protection for the Mistels or they were on a training flight but in the area of engagement. Oblt. Burkhard flew a Fw190 A-8 WNr.737 989. The whole story is nicely recalled in Robert Forsyth's "Mistel - German composite aircraft and operations 1942 - 1945". best regards, Tomislav |
