Re: 5./KG 55 names

Looks like

Lt. Kudicke and Hptm. Herrmann

deZeng and Stankey have a “Hans Hermann” from Stab/KG55 (page 399).

Couldn’t find a “Kudicke” in their list.

Regards, Thomas

Re: 5./KG 55 names

The Hermann listings on pp.399 and 400 are probably one and the same as "Hans" was often used as a shortened form of Johannes.

Sorry about Kudicke. We just never encountered his name in the documents or literature.

L.

Re: 5./KG 55 names

Perhaps "Knobicke" or "Knolicke"?

Re: 5./KG 55 names

I believe it is Oberleutnant and Gruppenkommandeur Joachim Könneke who was serving with 2. and 5./Kampfgeschwader 27 "Boelcke".

Oberleutnant Könneke died in an airplane accident on 22.2./23.2.1945 at Linz. He is buried in the cemetery Sankt Martin/Linz.

I recently picked up his Wehrpas at auction and he is listed in the KG27 unit histories.

Regards
Jeremy
