USCG Flying Boat
Hello,
Sometime ago I posted a photo of a Hall PH-2 on the Pacific & Far East Forum. From that I now know enough to say that the PH-2 operated on the US East Coat. Hopefully, this is not the same photo! and being a rather rare bird is of interest https://www.ebay.com/itm/20465527369...YAAOSwHKplzQ4f Regards, Clint |

Re: USCG Flying Boat
Hello Clint,
Thank you for posting this photo . I did at first think that it was odd to look camouflaged, but then read the handwritten note on the reverse view whis gives details of the Coastguard using seven of the type up to 1944. So the photo may well have been taken during WW2 and not pre-war. Sadly in most of your earlier posts in this thread the pictures are no longer viewable. Any chance that you saved copies and may be able to re-post them ? Alex |

Re: USCG Flying Boat
Nice photos Leendert. Thanks for posting,
Alex, I don't think that there is any doubt that the photo I posted and the simiarly coloured photos in Leendert's post show wartime machines. This link from the Coast Guard Aviation History site mentions that this scheme was adopted post Pearl Harbour,at which time four PH-2 were still in service https://cgaviationhistory.org/1938-c...-flying-boats/ Alas, I didn't copy the photos from my post to the earlier thread.
