That JG76/54 "Gelbe 14" (for B.H.!)

Hi friends,

two new pictures of that famous "Gelbe 14", crashed in a forest.
http://cgi.ebay.de/2-Fotos-abgesturz...item25645e7cde

Note that this time the crash place is different than indicated before: "Argonnenwald"... But this seems to confirm a previous eBay auction where it was indicated "bei Verdun"...
Note, too, that the second picture is going a little bit far indicating one "Bei ???" which I'm not able to read. Someone better than I will be kind to give his help.

Thanks; Salut Bertrand!

Cheers, Franck.

Possibly it's Autrécourt (=Autrécourt-sur-Air, about 5 km. south of Clermont-en-Argonne, off the A4 between St. Menéhould and Verdun)

Re: That JG76/54 "Gelbe 14" (for B.H.!)

Nice try Nick,

I'm not sure to read this...
Auboncourt (Auboncourt-Vauzelles) is another possibility but very far from Verdun, but still close to Sedan.
Whatever, Autrecourt-et-Pourron, close to Sedan is a third, possibility.

Remember that Argonne forest is spread ALLOVER the three departement MARNE, MEUSE AND ARDENNES. And was certainly more dense 65 years ago than it is pictured today on ... Google maps for exemple. Hence Argonne forest is a very wide area, not reduce to Verdun neighbourhoods (neighbourWoods). Therefore these three villages ARE in Argonne forest.

Wr.3416 was lost in Sedan large area, on 14 of May 1940.
BUT! It's registered as an E-1 and date doesn't match with what we know through an old ebay auction (June 10th and "bei Verdun" and not "bei Sedan" something germans HAD/MIGHT to remember since Napoleon III)...

SO, let's go for Autrécourt-sur-Aire ??? And forget Boos as first captionned, definitly!!! What we have done for long I hope.

Cheers, Franck.

PS: But personaly I like that 14 May 1940 loss.
