Erich Noack killed 24 July1940

Hi guys

This may have been previously discussed, but was Erich Noack killed in an accidental crash on 24 July 1940, or had his aircraft been damaged in combat and then crashed?

Don Caldwell's book 'The JG26 War Diary' implies both! See pages 47 and 49. And how old was he when killed?

Cheers
Brian

Geburtsort: Niederlangenau
Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 24.07.1940

Hi Chris

No, I don't believe so, unless I've lost the plot completely!!!

Anyway, what is the answer?

Cheers

By the way, he is described as 'dashing' here: https://books.google.pl/books?id=W4A...0Noack&f=false

Do you happen to have a photo of him?
