Hitler's FW200 Condor - Immelmann III - Ukraine August 1941

Unique 12 minute colour home movie taken on 26th August 1941 at a forward airfield in the Ukraine by keen amateur cameraman Flugkapitan Hans Bauer who was Hitler's personal pilot.

The film shows rare shots of Hitlers's personal FW200 Condor Immelmann III (Coded 26+00), they are fleeting but sure will be interesting to any Condor fan. The group shot of his staff posing next to the aircraft at 10:01:40 is the only known film taken of his personal air staff.

Two Condors always flew together, one for Hitler and his immediate entourage and the second for his staff, servants etc. It carried pre-made meals which were heated up in-flight as airliners do today.

The visit that day was to meet Benito Mussolini (who is seen in this film in several shots and also sitting in the cockpit after Bauer offered him the chance to sit in the co-pilot seat en route to meet Bormann, Keitel, Von Rundstedt etc)

The movie with the two Condor had been shot on 28 august 1941 when Hitler and Mussolini went to Uman from Krosno and then they met italians troops in the Tekuscha area; part of their entourage flew in with some Ju 52.

Mussolini had arrived to Rastenburg by train on 25 august: he met Hitler, visited some high commands. On 26 august the two dictators flew to Brest Litovsk with Ju 52 (visible in one of the part of the movie, so composed by different films) and visited the local fortress.
