Photo of Me 262 A-1a W.Nr. 111918
Good evening,
http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/album....&pictureid=727 Today, Mato Vlca posted the above photo on the Czech "Model Forum" site at https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic....0971&start=690 . He gave his source as https://goskatalog.ru/portal/#/collections?id=28011150 which is from the catalogue of photographs from museums by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. This source showed the above photo with the caption: "Photo of Lieutenant General E.M. Beletsky" and stated that the photo was located in "the regional state budget institution of culture 'Smolensk State Museum-Reserve'". Mr. Vlca also referenced David E. Brown's post #754 in http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showth...111918&page=76 To my eye the soldier on the right in the photo is wearing a Russian uniform which makes the location of Brandenburg-Briest most reasonable. Re: Photo of Me 262 A-1a W.Nr. 111918
Yes, I put a photo there. The problem is that the other photos of this plane take pictures of the Americans and Brandenburg-Briest was occupied the Red Army. The demarcation line was the Elbe. What were the Americans doing at this airfield?

Re: Photo of Me 262 A-1a W.Nr. 111918
I have other original photos of this aircraft in my collection. According to the caption it was found at Ludwigslust. Comparing the hangars visible in my photos with other known photos of Ludwigslust confirms this to be the correct location.

Thanks Roger for clearing this up! I was pondering about this issue myself (as I pretty much ruled out Brandenburg-Briest because of the US Army issue too).

According to my records, this was found near the Dutch border (J. Richard Smith and Eddie Creek, correspondence September 2000). What appears to be the correct site?
