"One of the Yanks" (32 Sqdn SE5a, 1918)
Hi guys,
Great idea to expand 12OCH's forums to encompass the before and after-eras as well. On that note: I recently took a quick break from my WWII commissions to indulge in a little "wind and wires" in the form of my favorite biplane, the SE5a: One of the Yanks 7.5 x 10, Oil on panel (study for forthcoming 18 x 24) Getting there: And, all but the rigging and a few other little details to be added once the paint is reasonably dry. At that time I'll scan the painting for the best archival image and then post the final image on my site. Wade

32 Squadron seem to have been heavy in American aces with Buddy Hale, John Donaldson and Callendar and well as Bogart Rogers! I think of them when I read Faulkners novels.

Nice work, Wade. Does this represent a specific aircraft? If so, what is the serial number? I can't make it out in the painting.
