A very strange nose for this He111B
Maybe an engine air intake ?
Any idea for it?

Re: Photos 4-9

Hi, Tahiti...

The He111B was a B-1, coded D-AKEM, W.Nr.1005, with a turbocharger intake fitted to the forward nose area. The tests were apparently unsatisfactory and the system was abandoned in 1938. A picture of this machine also appears in Heinkel He111 - Aircraft Monograph 2 by Robert Michulec (AJ Press).

Regards...

Re: Photos 4-9

Greetings all, and as always, thanks for the great postings Ed.

Regarding this photo:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=180231827387

Is the dark circular object in the lower middle part of the first photo the cold weather starting device filler? If so, is it in the lower or raised (DB 605 D) position?

Thanks,

Steve Sheflin
