Hans Ulrich Rudel at Markersdorf, Austria
Yesterday I met an old men who showed me a model of a Junkers Ju 87 "STUKA". It was made out of wood by the maintainace crew of the Markersdorf Airfield in Lower Austria 1940. The men told me that this madel aircraft was donated to Hans Ulrich Rudel who took it with him to Russia. During the last days it returned via Klagenfurt back to Markerdsorf where the old men got it.
I find this little story hard to believe. So I'm looking for any fact ehich are available. Maybe someone know if Hans Ulrich Rudel ever visited Markerdorf Airfield in 1940? Thank you for your help. Kurtl |

Re: Hans Ulrich Rudel at Markersdorf, Austria
Hi Kurtl!
On 2nd March 1940 Rudel joined Fliegerausbildungsregiment 43 at Wien-Stammersdorf. Possible that he also visited Markersdorf. Greetings from Vienna, Simon |
