Re: Xaver Ellenrieder (JG.26....and?)

What are your sources, this is not all the information that I have.

11/07/43=Typhoon (perhaps 198°Sqd)
05/01/44:with who? JG/26?
08/02/44=P-47(not a P-51) with JG/26
24/02/44=B-17HSS (not a B-24) and not approved

Perhaps a B-17 on 31/12/43 with 2/JGr West, and perhaps also another claim with JGr West (Bergerac)..hence my question.

Regards
Michel

Michel

Ellenrieder's first claim against the LaGG-3 dated 26.3.1943 is listed by Don Caldwell in his JG 26 book vol 2. It is not known if that claim was accepted or not, most likely it was not, since it is not in the microfilms (Johannes does not mention it for example)

JoMe

It is very strange that the Typhoon claim 11.7.1943 is not in his flight log.
It is listed everywhere and surely must be stated as suck on the microfilms as well.
Even worse is that there is no claim listed for him on 5.4.1944 what so ever.
Your other dates fit what has been published even if my sources disagree if the B-24 actually was that or a B-17. He did not get any official credit for his claim anyway.

Cheers
Stig

Re: Xaver Ellenrieder (JG.26....and?)

Hi

In his flight look I find an entry for 11. July 1943
Mission: Railroad monitoring with no comments

On 14.07.43 the entry was: 1 Taifun (Typhoon) effectively shooting

At 05.04.44 there is no entry in his flight log.

best wishes

Question Re: Xaver Ellenrieder (JG.26....and?)

What did Ellenrieder did after WWII? When he was born? When did he passed away?

Re: Xaver Ellenrieder (JG.26....and?)

It doesn't look like he even flew on 11-Jul-43.
