Re: Fw190, WNr.670926, Black 6+~, which unit?
Isn't this an (FW190) upper engine cowl panel at the feet of the soldier leaning against the rear fuselage? The front part is very light in color, the color separation line is straight and at a 90 degree angle to the line of flight: are we seeing part of a yellow ID marking? Of course there is no way to be certain it is from the plane in the photo.
And what about the MG troughs? Have they been covered in sheet metal/filled in? Regards, Richard P.S.: how much force does it take to bend the barrels of an MG131? |

Enough force from a charge, and that's what looked like happened here, on the port side of the engine. And I would agree with your take on the forward portion of the cowling on the ground, having a yellow stripe.

Re: Fw190, WNr.670926, Black 6+~, which unit?
Was the fuselage cross RLM76 in the center or White? There is a sharp line on the right & top arm of the cross but it is soft on the left & bottom!
My guess is that we have RLM76 there... |
