Re: Lt Rödel Stab/JG27 Hurricane claim may 12 1940 near Liége Belgium

There seems to be some confusion surrounding the date of the loss of L1930.
"Fighter Command Losses" and "Battle of France Then and Now" both say 13 May 40.
AIR81/2081 says 12 May 40:

Re: Lt Rödel Stab/JG27 Hurricane claim may 12 1940 near Liége Belgium

Indeed, Peter Cornwell in TBoFTaN said L1630, most likely based on the same Fighter Command Losses source. However, the L1630 was still flying May 16, so my interpretation is that the AIR81/2081 is correct and this was the L1930. Fits consistently to all other known facts.

Cheers, Pieter

In "Twelve days in May" p.97,it"s L1632 F.Howell shot down north of Liege by Stab/JG27

In "La RAF en France" it's L1630 shot down near canal Albert

L1930 lost without any precision on 13/05/40
