608 Squadron Sergeant Harold George Webb Sergeant WO/AG 1191575

608 Squadron Sergeant Harold George Webb Sergeant WO/AG 1191575

Hello All,

I am hoping someone on here can help me. I am trying to trace what happened to Sergeant Harold George Webb Sergeant. I have it that he was serving with 608 Sqn and lost his life in an air crash, he passed away on the 08/04/1943 and is buried at LE PETIT LAC CEMETERY. I have checked 608’s ORB for April 1943 and there is no plane lost on that date the only plane lost in April, according to the ORB was on 5th, but he is not listed as one of the crew.

Help please

Thank you in advance Jon

Hi Ross,

Thank you, very much appreciated.

Would 608 Sqn operating out of Tafaraouri have had a different ORB?

Jon
Try searching the Catalogue on the National Archives website, it'll show you how many volumes of the ORB there are and what period each one covers.

Hi Nick,

I have just been back and re checked, I had missed 608’s summery of events for April 1943, but this also makes no mention of any loss for the 8th of April, which I find very strange.
