Kurt Kuhlmey bailing out

Hi,

several sources (Obermaier among others) mention that well known Stuka pilot Kurt Kuhlmey (StG 1, StG 3) was shot down twice and that he baled out once. However, I have never seen any details.

So, does anyone know when and where he had to bail out?
Matti perhaps?

Thanks in advance,

Raimo

Re: Kurt Kuhlmey bailing out

I have no loss leaving the aircraft with a parachute. The only loss of Kuhlmey I have is:

1939-09-17, 1./St.G 1, Ju 87 B, Nördlich Modlin
Flugzeugführer Olt Kuhlmey, Kurt
Bordfunker Ogfr Horche
Notlandung infolge Flakbeschuß. Bruch ? %.

Re: Kurt Kuhlmey bailing out

Ok.

Matti, many thanks anyway for a quick and informative answer, as usual.

Maybe this is another example of a case where something not fully correct has been printed and then copied & repeated elsewhere, slowly turning to a "fact".
