Information concerning the loss of Feldwebel Karl Palm - killed 30.01.44

Hi,

Can anyone provide information on the loss of Feldwebel Karl Palm who was killed on the 30th January 1944 as part of a bomber crew?

Thanks

Rick

Fw Karl Palm was a passenger on board Ju-52/3m of 10./TG 4 (G6+MU), shot down in the night of 29/30 Jan 1944 over the Ardennes (Stoumont).

The NVM shows him as a 1.Wart of 1/KG 6 injured in the crash does not appear on the Grabesuche site .

True. It appears that Volksbund has above incident on 29 Jan 1944, with names of other passengers/victims Fw. Helmut Thorn, Fw. Walter Leffler, Obfw. Fritz Kreidler, Gefr. Wolf-Dieter Gerlach and more...
Yet, Fw. Karl Palm buried elsewhere, if indeed killed in crash?

Also see http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showth...?t=4996&page=2 with same unanswered question about true fate of Fw. Palm

Leendert

Looking at the NVM again I had taken it that the dittos appearing in the light injury column indicated that Palm , Leffler and Hecht were injured . But the dittos refer to the wording next to Fw Thorn showing 'Gefallen' perhaps the four were buried in one grave at Heldenfriedhof Brusthem by St.Trond while some got an individual grave .

Grabesuche site shows Hecht , Leffler , and Thorn are at rest in Lommel , perhaps Palm's now rests in a family plot in his home town ?
