Parts identification
Dear all,
can some one help me identify from which aircraft these parts come from ? It could be a Ju188 or a Do217, but any clue will be appreciated Thanks a lot and take care GC Last edited by gilles collaveri; 16th November 2020 at 07:04. |

Re: Parts identification
Gilles, looks like some kind of scavange driven pump (oil) for something...Shall have a look later at some sites and manuals to try to find out something similar, but as you do know this is NOT my field.
My initial guess (first picture) was that it was related to the hub of a propeller....but it seems too small and the alluminium tub does not fit onto the picture of a propeller hub...so...we do need a manual indeed to match this, or an expert from the Forum. There are guys here who are indeed MASTERS onto the subject. But why the 87 number instead of a 88 number for a JU 88 part? Am really happy for your findings! Another nice mistery! Re: Parts identification
Salut les amis,,
Adriano, I agree with you, we miss information to identify but we will go on the crash site in September and we will hopefully find more parts and P/N. What we know is that these parts come this aircraft (picture already shared on http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=56490 So, JU188 or Do217 ? Clin/nicolas: pictures were sent to me, I did not make them myself We will be back in September with more data GC |

Re: Parts identification
Thanks.
I shall ask to the owner of the part if he can read the part number on the plate and let you know; GC |

Re: Parts identification
Hello
Looks like a fuel pump. Here a schematic of an analogous model (DBU : Deutsche Benzin Uhren). License build by Aerobau Lehman is of course possible. As far as I know, this pump has nothing to do with the BMW 801 or the DB 603 engine... May be on the tanks side of the plumbing, but I have no parts catalog of the Do 217 or the Ju 188. Re: Parts identification
Jean,
Fantastic finding....do not know if the Do 217 or Ju 188 did have a X-feed pump...maybe someone can enlight us. I thought it was a scavenge oil pump....but fuel pump seems more logical. Nice matching with this diagram! Now where was this located is the next step to find... We are getting closer Gilles! |

Re: Parts identification
Un grand merci (a big thank you) to Jean, for finding the pump.
We now would need a Ju188 or Do217 part catalogue to check if this pump is located in one of these: anyone around ? I continue asking locally more pictures and data, I shall revert to you when I have. At the latest, in September (when we go on site), we will know more.
