US map code points - name of 2 belgian cities ?

Hi all,
I just read a report of the 397th FS 368th FG about the 3rd september 1944. The squadron was at first over Maubeuge ( Northern France ) and sent to the east and south east, to the area of Mons ( Belgium ).
I'm looking the name of these cities in Mons area :
- J-504
- J-2607
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Looking at the http://www.echodelta.net/mbs/eng-translation.php

co-ordinate translator for the Nord de Guerre Zone, vJ square near Mons,

vJ2607 translates to 50.39951 N, 3.87914 E

https://www.google.com/maps/place/50...9951!4d3.87914

The other location, J504 is missing a number, there should be 4 (or six) numbers.

Here is a 1943 map of the Mons area with the grid lines marked:

http://legacy.lib.utexas.edu/maps/am...43-mons-76.jpg

The map allows us to get an idea how close the co-ordinate translator gets to the actual co-ordinates as shown on the map.

If you look at the map, vJ2606 appears to be within meters of the intersection of Rue du Ctre and Rue du Peuple. The translator puts the location of vJ2606 about 130 to 150 meters to the north east. This is typical of the accuracy of the translator, which can be anywhere from 150 to 1000 meters "off" according to the warning message given on translator website.
