Re: Photos + 3-12-12

Hello Ed!

The Fw 58 S17+M32 in the first album should be LNS 2, which used S17+M codes so therefore the insignia should be for that unit, but I have never come accross LNS2's emblem so perhaps a more knowledgable person could interject with confirmation or otherwise?

Thanks for finding these!

Chris

It is LNS 2, Peter Evans has identified it here http://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/fo...=&fromsearch=1 using the Carlsen and Meyer Band 1 Die Flugfurhrer-Ausbildung der Deutschen Luftwaffe as his guide.

Re: Photos + 3-12-12

Ed,

thanks for discovering such precious und exciting rarities time after time.

Especially the first album contents some "specials", for instance on the page with Me 110, DC 3 in LW mail-service... on the right bottom there is a photograph showing "Oblt. Reuter" and the caption underneath reads in English (translated): "Was killed on 13th March 1944(?) during a night attack on an anglo-american ship-convoy at the african coast near Tobruk after combat with a Mosquito."

Best Regards
Norbert
