Re: Looking for any information on ....

S/L David James Baikie Wilson, born 16 January, 1917 was killed in the crash of a Tudor on 23 August 1947. He was flying as co-pilot on a test flight.

See "The Tudor Incident" on this link:

Bar to Distinguished Flying Cross: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/.../3089/data.pdf

Distinguished Service Order: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/.../5466/data.pdf
which includes this info:

Acting Squadron Leader David James Baikie WILSON,
D.F.C. (113429), R.A.F.V.R., 617 Sqn.
This officer has taken part in numerous missions
over enemy territory, including attacks on Berlin,
Hamburg, Bremen, Cologne and Mannheim. He is
now on his third tour and has completed many
sorties demanding a high standard of skill and
accuracy. He has proved himself to be an ideal
leader and his example has been most inspiring.

There are several mentions and photos of his grave on this thread:

Re: Looking for any information on ....

Thank you both, I've been going through the 617 Squadron O.R.B. slowly. Interesting that he flew ED932, coded "V" by that that time
