Sergeant F. J. Soper - 10.01.1940

Peter Cornwell in his superb book Battle of France wrote that Sgt Francis Joseph Soper forced-landed on 10.01.1940 at Chambly with broken con-rod 2.30 p.m in Hurricane L1621.
I see in 1 Sqn ORB, Soper's aircraft was L1681 on that day. Which Hurricane could be correct ? Based on Halley, I think L1621 served in 87 Sqn only

regards All,
Mariusz
