Muller pilot? 3/KG55 1940.
Hi could anybody help confirm the identity of a pilot flying with 3/KG55.
This chap took part in missions over France and the BoB during 1940. Any help would be appreciated. Rgs, Steve. |

Do you have a first name for this man? |

Re: Muller pilot? 3/KG55 1940.
Hi ed, no I'm afraid not.
This is what I'm seeking, I can't find anybody of that name for 3/KG55 who may have flown or commanded an a/c of that staffel. If its of help, Uffz.Michael Deiml flew a number of missions with Muller, and its from his flugbuch this querie arises! Best regs, Steve. |

Re: Muller pilot? 3/KG55 1940.
Here's a thread from another site with some suggestions regarding researching KG 55. Sometimes, a broad search is the only way to get more specific detail. And I suspect this man's name was spelled Müller.
https://forum.axishistory.com//viewtopic.php?t=180914 Based on a little further research, his first name may have been Gerhard. Last edited by edwest2; 7th November 2017 at 03:00. |

Re: Muller pilot? 3/KG55 1940.
Hi Ed and Matti, thank you for the suggestions regarding Muller, I'm still unclear as to who he may have been.
Perhaps Matti's tip being that he was with 3/KG55 may help and it could be Albrecht Muller lost 30.12.41? Best regs, Steve. |

Re: Muller pilot? 3/KG55 1940.
In Michael Deiml's 'My Staligrad Operation' he gives his first crew with KG 55 as FF Oltn Muller, B Ltn Ruggebrecht, Bf Fw ?, Bm Deiml, Bs Flg (private) Bauer . he goes on to say while he was ill ( coming out of hospital on 7-10-41) this crew fell over the Channel with a Fw Simon as his replacement . The GQM gives the following loss 9-8-41 Do 217 E-1 F8+EC II/KG40 5093 lost to unknown cause and place Ff Oblt Kurt Muller, B Ofw Heinz Ruggebrecht, Bf Ofw Willi Obermann and Bm Fw Otto Simon all missing.
This was also covered in a rickback4444 thread 'Translation of script' dated 29th August 2012 which also had T/O Soesterberg missing N.Sea Last edited by Brian Bines; 8th November 2017 at 00:13. |

Re: Muller pilot? 3/KG55 1940.
Brian's suggestion might be correct. Olt Kurt Müller. who was MIA with this Stab II/KG 40 aircraft had an EKM issued by 1./KG 55 in April 1940.

Re: Muller pilot? 3/KG55 1940.
Thank you very much Brian and Matti for this latest development.
This sounds more likely of the previously mentioned Muller's. Kindest regs, Steve. |
