LG2 raid. North Weald. 29.10.40
Dear all. I am currently researching the raid carried out by II/LG2 on the above date at the above location. I have brief details but would ask if anyone could point me in the correct direction(s) for details of aircraft and airmen involved, routes from Calais Marck and details of their escort if any. I am aware of the loss of three of their number but have no detail of any other aircraft damaged or airmen wounded. Any help regarding this raid would be much appreciated.

"17.40 uhr von North Weald bis zur Küste: Luftkampf mit einer Staffel Spitfire." "1748 Uhr Fliegerhorst North Weald mit 17 SC 250. Treffer auf 1 Halle, Benzinanlage und Abstellplätzen. 2. Angriff mit 8 SC 250, 40 SD 50. Treffer in Hallen und zwischen abgestellten Flugzeugen beobachtet. 2 Brände in Hallen." "1750 Uhr Von.North Weald bis zur Küste; Feindberührung mit 20-30 Hurricane und Spitfire." "1750 Uhr North Weald: schwache Flakabwehr." Hope that this is of some help.

Apart from what you have got & Andy's post, this is as good as you are going to get without logbook or war diary entries

Ivor-Not sure as to what thought sources could be as even Jochen Prien's book covering Bf 109 units during this time and LCA Vol 6 have anything more to add

Re: LG2 raid. North Weald. 29.10.40
Chris, thanks. It has not been easy for sure. I am off to North Weald and the Essex RO as a starting point then probably the PRO. Thank you for your help.
