Re: Photo Fokker E Types

Hello,

Subsequent to posting the Fokker photos in the previous post in this threas I have received the following information from Josef Scott

I have to say I'm a bit hazy on the differences between FEAs and KEAs myself. I can't recall seeing any of the airfields such as Köln, Großenhain, Graudenz, etc. referred to as anything other that FEAs. However, Mannheim and Köslin (among others) were KEAs. Will have to make some inquiries.

The photo of Fok E.I 1/15 is pretty well known, although this is a great print of it. The pilot is always identified as Otto Parschau. There are many photos of Parschau & Fokker with early Eindeckers at Köln, so it seems to have been something of a proving ground for new designs for them.

I think the other 2 photos are of the same E.I – same location, same time frame, same type and they both have that big box barograph attached to the rigging wires, not a common accessory.

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo Fokker E Types

Tricky this one Clint

To me it seems it either says
E187.xx or EI87 which really don't fit the bill unless the E.I went a little bit further then the so far established 85/15

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photo Fokker E Types

Hi Stig,

I have to say that I pretty much see the same as you. That is I can only see the single I . I'm glad we both see 87, since I haven't ruled out editing this at some stage and replacing it all with E.I E.57/15.I've already, unsurprisingly let Josef Scott know that the photo is on ebay and hopefully between the three of us we can reach an agreed conclusion to what we're seeing.Do you think it could be 57 and not 87?

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo Fokker E Types

I was in a rush before to watch the News on the Tele

I have now blown up the photo and I think you could be very much correct.
The former digit 8 takes more and more on a striking resemblance to a digit 5.

Perhaps we can settle about E.I 57/15? Certainly works for me....

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photo Fokker E Types

Hi Stig,

Funny coincidence about the TV. I've just been taking in a couple of hours of french culture myself.

Anyhoo, back to the Fokker. I've had a response from Josef and he came up with Fokker E.I E.57/15, given that I'd avoided mentioning the serial, I guess we can all agree on E.57/15.

The only downside, I still don't have any unit associated with Fokker E.87/15. So hopefully something turns up soon.

Regards,

Clint

Re: Photo Fokker E Types

Hello,

I received a reponse from Josef Scott on the crahed Fokker in the post above this one. He wrote:

In this photo, the wn almost looks to be 332, which would probably be E.II 81/15. Maybe.
