RAF Hawkinge Station ORBs 14-16th August 1940 & Info please?

Hello

After photos / scans of RAF Hawkinge Station ORBs covering 14 to 16th August 1940 and any info about Squadrons flying from there, references to combats, weather, or any references or messages relayed about RAF Bomber or unidentified aircraft, night of 14/15th August 1940, or subsequent searching? Distress calls received/passed on, or any references to difficulty getting telephone calls passed via the exchange? Calls or correspondence to No. 2 Group Bomber Command?

Thanks in anticipation, Mark

Having been a writer of Station F540s, the information you are after would never have been listed-far too 'in the weeds'. Furthermore, the pace of battle would have been hard to be recorded at that time and as Gerry says, from what I remember Hawkinge's F540 was exceptionally thin until after the Battle

Hello Gerry and Chris

Thank you for responding. I've sent a pm Gerry.

Yes, ORBs vary in what they record. I must have been quite lucky some years ago, to find in the St Eval Station ORB a reference to an Air Search for an unknown aircraft, just after 0400 on 15 August 1940.

But I've seen a reference last week, to RAF Hawkinge notifying 16.8.40 with reference to a 15.8.40 RAF bomber and crew loss (which has been struck out), so just following it up.

Regards Mark
