100kg bomb attached to parachute - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Hi folks

What sort of aircraft would drop 100 kg bombs attached to parachutes?

To add a bit more context this is March 1944 and the location is Texel.

The Americans used parachute retarded bombs for very low level bombing in the Pacific theatre. There are several photos on the net of B-25s using them.

Texel is an island off the coast of Holland and had flak positions and probably radar/early warning stations.
