Book "Brennendes Land - Der Luftkrieg im Südwesten"

Hello,

If someone has the book "Brennendes Land - Der Luftkrieg im Südwesten - Angriffe, Luftkämpfe, Abstürze, 1940-1945" by Fred Trendle, I would be interested to have a review of it, or maybe a scan of a page.

Thanks in advance

Laurent

Re: Book "Brennendes Land - Der Luftkrieg im Südwesten"

Fred Trendle's book "Brennendes Land" reviews the airwar in southwest Germany 1940-1945. It's in the form of a diary, on one hand showing the main course of WW2 in very short form. And then on the other hand trying to detail what happened in the air in southern Germany.

All the bomb runs are there (as far as I can judge), the clashes with the Luftwaffe, the victories and losses on both sides. You get lots of names, be it victorious or shot down crews. You get MACR numbers, airplane identities, Werknummer, Kennung, what have you... not at the end of the book, but, like I said, in the diary form. Oh, and the incidents over Switzerland during the war are prominent.

Allthrough the book you have photos, on every page corresponding to the pagetext, lots of photos and lots of them "coloured".

It's a A4 softcover, own publishing company, 150-160 pages (unfortunately no page numbers!).

IMO, a well researched book, the text not always up to par, but alltogether nicely done. A self-published author that has my support!

Greetings

Hans

Any idea where and how a copy of this book might be obtained? It sounds interesting.

Actually my original question was after seeing it on the Christian Schmidt commercial website (here: http://www.christian-schmidt-fachbuc...c0457c17f21c47)
