Martlet FN112 in Operation Torch

Good afternoon
Accord. to vol. 3 of A History of the Mediterranean Air War (C. Shores, G. Massimello) on November 6, 1942 FN 112 was flown by Lt. D.M. Jeram of 888 Sqn FAA from HMS Formidable, and on November 9 1942 it was used by Sub Lt P.C.D. Street of 882 Sqn from HMS Victorious.
Can anybody shed some light on that inconsistence?
All the best

Re: Martlet FN112 in Operation Torch

Reading the Air Britain book FAA Aircraft 1939-45 it seems both the aircraft
FN112 and Street belonged to 888 Squadron on the 9th. It is also illustrated as such on page 10 but that claim is not in the A-B book.

The claim on the 9th was shared with another pilot (Trebble) who was in FN101, and both he and his aircraft are listed with 882 Sq.

Probably some confusion within the remaining records or by the authors, and I can even come up with a few reasons why Street suddenly gets recorded with 882 Sq.

However I believe both the aircraft and its pilot on the 9th actually belonged to 888 Sq.

Cheers
Stig
