Please, need information on two JG 2 pilots.
Good night to all.
I would like to know the fates of two JG 2 pilots ( they were probably killed during the war ). I would like to check the date of their deaths ( If so ) and number of victories achieved. The men are: 1- Oblt Armin Andler from .8/ JG 2 2- Uffz Rudolf Eisele also from .8/ JG 2 Thanks for your help Adriano |

Re: Please, need information on two JG 2 pilots.
Ofw Rudolf Eisele was killed 14 Apr 43. I have nothing on an Oblt Armin Andler-do you mean Armin Landmann who was killed 7 Nov 42?

Re: Please, need information on two JG 2 pilots.
Hi Chris!
Yes, you are correct! I did a terrible mistake ( misreading ) on the name of Oblt Armin LANDMANN, who was almost certainly shot down by Sous Lieutenant A. Moynet from 340 French Squadron at 16:05hs some 30 miles S of B. Head. Do you know how many victories he had at the time of his death? And, the name of the other JG 2 pilot shot down on that same mission? Glad Yours Adriano |

Re: Please, need information on two JG 2 pilots.
Landmann & Lt Heribert Hufnagel were lost in combat near Brest & St Renan respectively at 1210 & 1205 hrs. Moynet's claim was south of Beachy Head (which is nowhere near Brest) at 1615 hrs (1715 hrs German time). Moynet was apparently on a practice flight and not involved with the attack on Brest which was apparently 4 hours before his claim and JG 2 was intercepting an attack by B17s/B24s on Brest 4 hours before Moynet's claim. However, Oblt Bruno Stolle of 8/JG 2 did claim a B-24 c.1700 hrs on this day (which would make it 1600 hrs UK time) even though no B-24s were lost over the target. If we had the times for the attack on Brest, this would answer the possible discrepancy. Landmann had, I think, 4 kills

Re: Please, need information on two JG 2 pilots.
Hello Chris!
I do not know what happened to my last post, but yes, you are quite right. I must have been "flying" when I wrote Anders. I was trully meaning Oblt Armin Landmann, who apparently was shot down by Sous-Lieutenant André Moynet, of the 340 Squadron. Do you know how many victories were credited to Oblt Landmann before his death? It seems that S/Lt Moynet also claimed a second Fw 190 A-3 on the same combat. Do you confirm this on your files? Thanks for helping me again. Adriano |

Re: Please, need information on two JG 2 pilots.
Sorry Chris! I do not know what is happening with my computer´s configuration...I had not access to your last answers before posting out the above and that reply too.
Very strange the facts of this 7th November. I read on a French site that Landmann could have been brought down by his own Flak!? His body apparently was found and buried at Ploudaniel-Lesvenen, Bloc 14 Row 6 Grave 401. I will try to find out more about the B-24 raid. Thank you again and excuse me for the problems with the computer...I swear I had not see your post although I knew there were 3 replies... Yours as ever Adriano |
