Disappearance of Hans-Georg Lohmeyer

Hello,
does anyone know the exact place of death of Lieutenant Hans-Georg Lohmeyer of SG77 or SG1?
We read on the "trace of war" site: October 22nd, 1944 (Groß-Garden/Gumbinnen, Germany), but Gross Garden is in Masuria (Poland) and on the "aircrewremembered" site: "
KIA 22 October, 1944 on a mission against targets east of Gumbinnen, when his Fw 190 was shot down near Gross-Gauden East Prussia by enemy fighters, burning on impact. He was buried at Salau Cemetery near Insterburg".
There is a Gross Gross-Gauden in East Prussia, (Groß Gaudischkehmen until 1938 and on Soviet maps), but it is 24 km west of Gumbinnen. Which doesn't match.

For lack of place, the time could help me to discriminate among the 19 FW 190 claimed by the units of the 1st VA.

This question interests me because the late CJ Ehrengardt, in his exceptional work of 1988, never equaled in quality since, hypothesized that would have been shot down by Versini du Normandie-Niemen. This seems unlikely to me, for several reasons.

If anyone has any information, we could compare it with the Soviet archives.

Good weekend to all

Hello, Laurent!
Großgauden (GroßGaudischkehmen) - placed 10 km ESE to Insterburg. In my oppinion this place is good for Perrin's claim FW.190 Judtschen (It is 4 km E to Großgauden (GroßGaudischkehmen).
Please tell if you will found definate place where Lohmeyer was killed.

Hello ZhekaB,

In reality this day the soviets accreditted a victory to Perrin à kilometer south of Gumbinnen. The French canceled this victory, to create a new one for shared by Lemare and Manceau.
Perrin should share the victory of Genès who had shoot down a FW-190 15 km East of Gumbinnen aoocording soviet's reports (perhaps Judtschen).
Then Lohmeyer could be shooted down by Genès betwen 13h10 and 14h40. Yhe best, would be to have te hour of the death of HG Lohmeyer, because the victory's record of the Normandy-Niemen did not consoder to be a heavy proove.

Re: Disappearance of Hans-Georg Lohmeyer

In Fhr. Beyerlein's flugbuch there is entry for 12:00-12:45 (14:00-14:45) sortie with note about the death of Lohmeyer.

So, a lot of possible claimers.
