Hi All

Looking for details on a Ju 88 that crashed in April 1941m may have been 11th July 1941

May have been

(1) Near St Cyrus (several references)

(2) Near Torry Battery , Aberdeen

Anybody any ideas?

April or July 1941 is a big span! A Ju 88 came down north of Montrose 14 July 41. Nothing 9-12 July 1941 or on land in April 1941

Re: Ju 88 Crash April 1941, Aberdeen

Hi Chris

It was 14th July, the photo was wrongly stated as April 1941.

Scotland's people list the names of the crew but information is incorrect (spelling and one surname only)

The info I have is:-

Junkers Ju 88A-1, S4+HH of 1/Kustenfliegergruppe 506
The aircraft was from Westerland

The crew on the aircraft were Leutnant zur See Eduard Erich Becker, Unteroffizier Gerhard Gebauer, Obergefreiter Fritz Otto Foese and Unteroffizier Hans Steggemann.

Re: Ju 88 Crash April 1941, Aberdeen

A question

They 4 crew were buried at Sleepy Hillock Cemetery in Montrose.

In 1954, a mother of one visited the graves.

In the 1960s, the airman were re-interred to Cannock Chase. Any idea how I would find out when in the 60s?

Re: Ju 88 Crash April 1941, Aberdeen

Thanks Chris

Dilemma

Obergefreiter Fritz Otto Foese (Cannock memorial)

or

Obergefreiter Fritz Otto Fose (volksbund)

Any idea which one would be correct?

I would say Föse; his EKM was 73038/21 according to K Report

Re: Ju 88 Crash April 1941, Aberdeen

I now have another query

Was the aircraft S4+HH or S4+KH?
