Photos Captured Danish Aircraft
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a SAI KZ-II captured by the Germans in 1943 https://www.ebay.de/itm/226430864995...Bk9SR_zZsrneZA There are photos of several other Danish aircraft seized by the Germans at https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_dkr=...0d%C3%A4nemark Are any of these machines known to have served with the Luftwaffe? I would be particularly interested in the identity of any Verbandskennzeichen or Stkz,if any are known. Regards, Clint |

What I know about the four identifiable aircraft are OY-DAR and OY-DIP: both seized by the Germans in Dec 1943. They had probably never flown since April 1940. Doubt they were of any interest as such at that time. OY-DYS: Nothing known since its CofA lapsed in Nov 1940. No report of any German connection, so may have remained at Copenhagen until Dec 1943 OY-DEM: As far as I know it remained with DDL all through the war and was never seized by the Germans. It is darn irritating that none of the photos are dated, but in many of the others we see can see quite a few Ju 52/3m which may indicate a date late 1943, but that is possibly wishful thinking on my part.... Re: Photos Captured Danish Aircraft
Probably 1940 shortly after Kastrup was occupied by the germans. SOME aircraft shown belonged to the danish airlines and were not taken over by the Luftwaffe. A Fw 58 and Kl 35 wich was privately owned did see service in the Luftwaffe from 1944. Most private aircraft were scrapped or sold to Sweden. 2 Piper Cup were used with Fligerbildzug General der Luftwaffe in Denmark.

Re: Photos Captured Danish Aircraft
Thank you both for the replies. It seems from the LRG that some KZ-II did make it to Germany. There is a thread on the LRG which states that they were mentioned in "Flugbestande- und Flugbetriebestatestik. / Flugbetriebsmeldungen für Juni/Juli 44." as of "Flugzeugbestande am 31. Juli 1944. I guess this means that the aircraft were probably seized following the implementation of the stricter occupation regime in Denmark in 1943.
When I posted here I was just hoping that more information might subsequently have arisen as to the markings Stkz/Verbands or civil markings applied showing whether their use was civil or military. Regards, Clint |
