Good evening moonraker !

Neither the a/c's s/n nor the unit match up with this date according to the available literature and files.

Do you have deeper infos ?.

Re: Capt Orsinger Keith A 366 FG

Alain, Horst,

P-47 42-75140 is on the USAAF loss list with date 22 Feb 1944 flying with 353rd FG.
Capt Orsinger officially was with 366th FG. Perhaps both FGs thought the other FG would file a MACR, and as a rseult none was made at all at that time?

P-47 42-75140 is indeed often represented as with 56th FG, but probably a mix-up here with 42-75410 (HV-M). Opinions welcome.

Further losses of 353rd FG that day were 42-75065 (Edison, KIA, crashed at Ekeren, Belgium), 75226 (Beckham, POW, Berg-Neukirchen, Germany), 75647 (Wood, KIA, North Sea) and 75653 (Hurlburt, KIA, North Sea).

Footnote.com has no match with Keith A. Orsinger either.

Regards,

Leendert

Re: Capt Orsinger Keith A 366 FG

according losses of the 8th and 9th airforce
capt orsinger was last seen spinning down
after the war 8 bodies were recovered from the military cemetery of st trond
7 bodies were from the b-17 42-31500 witch crashed the same day
3 body's of this b-17 could be indentify
the other 8 received an groep burial in rock island national cemetery illinois

chrashlocation of cap orsinger is unknow
there is an other p-47 that crashed at the same time south of eindhoven
so it could be that the p-47 41-6335 of lt johnson of cap orsinger crashed at lommel
