That is exactly the point. If the known AA claim is for an aircraft already abandoned by the crew, AA could not have been responsible for the loss.

They bailed out after being hit by flak just before reaching 1600 ff and during the course of approach flight. So everything else is just pure speculation. Maybe hit by fighter, maybe finished by flak, maybe not.

The approach to target was at approx. 15,000 ft. The AA claim was at 1,500 ft. The crew did not claim technical malfunction. Feel free to think what you like, but trying to argue that the crew descended 13,500 ft without any reason defies any logic.
