Who flew the He162 Wnr. 120223 ?

good morning every one,

the Heinkel 162 Wnr. 120223 "yellow 1" of 3/JG1 is well known, there is a very good picture of this aircraft taken at Leck in 1945.

I am now trying to rebuild the story of this very aircraft.

In particular, I would like to know if it is possible to have the names of the pilots of the JG1 who flew this Wnr 120223.

Is there someone around with some records of the activities of 3/JG1 showing the operations in detail ?

Thanks for your support ;

cheers

GC

Gilles: The problem is so late in the war and with very few operational or even FBs existing, this might be hard

According to his own account Wollenweber flew it on April 20. Given the lack of machines pilots flew whatever was available. Post-war 223 went to France, but I guess you know that!

Chris thanks, I was expecting this kind of answer but also maybe a bit of luck

Falkeeins, thanks a lot, I shall ask separately some pictures of this pilot.

My question is because I plan to publish an article describing the end of this machine in the hands of a French pilot in Mont de Marsan in July 1948.

At this occasion, I will share the pictures of the parts we found (and share also pictures and the career of its French Pilot, Georges Schlienger).

Have a nice day everyone...

Gilles
