Ramon Franco, brother of Generalisimus Franco, gone lost in October 1938 with an CANT 506 B "Airone", stationed at Port de Polensa. I search for this details:

Hello,
c/n20; former italian 'Matricola Militare': MM45211 Lost on 28,Oct.1938 when flew into a storm. The casualties were: Lt.Col.Ramón Franco Bahamonde-KIFA, Lt.Melchor Sangro Torres-KIFA, Lt.Joaquín Domínguez García-KIFA, Sgt.Emigdio Gómez Martí-KIFA, Crp.José Cánaves Costa-MIA. Forgot to mention the fuse code with the spaniards were 73-1. I had the pleasure to talk some minutes with the pilot who brought it in ferry flight from Italia. He's now 93 years old. Regards |
