Pilot Officer Denzil Francis BIGGANE DFC

This pilot and his crew were lost on the night of 21/22 December 1942 during a raid against Munich. Chorley states the aircraft came down approximately 15km NNW of Heilbronn. Nothing mentioned here or in Theo's Nachtjagd War Diaries as to how it was lost. Flak reports?

Does anyone have any further information as to how this Lancaster was lost, or any pictures of Pilot Officer Biggane or his crew who were flying with 44 Sqn at the time.

Many thanks,

David

Re: Pilot Officer Denzil Francis BIGGANE DFC

I believe the plane was Lancaster W4125, do you know if that is correct???

There is a website here that has the story of Sanders and Goulette , who were on the crew of W4125 according to the link. I am not sure the current version of the website has this story (the website may have changed), so this links to an archived version. (Cancel the midi (mid) download if it appears).

UPDATE: This link has the rest of the crew lost with Biggane on W4125.
