What is the identity of the Whitley claimed by 8/JG2:Quadrat 7082/15 WEST (over the Channel)

Whitley V BD414 - J of 10 OTU lost on sub patrol from St Eval on 03.06.43 T/o 10:45 hrs

The time does not match:20h.14,the claim of 8/JG2....so?

The only Whitley lost on 3 Jun 43 from what I can see was BD414/J (Sgt D F Bavin) (which would be returning from its patrol after 8 hours?)

There is a good chance that the BD 414 is the victim of 8/JG2

The norm of patrols in Whitley V was 8 to 10 hours,it was very common.

According to AIR 14/1195 Final reports on Bomber Command operations day (which includes anti-submarine patrols of 91 Group) the cause of the loss was Engine failure. No enemy Aircraft was reported seen by Whitleys on patrol this date.
