Oblt Willi Denker 9/KG 27

Can anyone confirm the above officer (surname might be corrupted) was wounded in action 26 Dec 41 in 1G+BT and does anyone have any other crew names?

Re: Oblt Willi Denker 9/KG 27

Hi, Chris

I have no information with regards to the aircraft, as the only source would be the Namentliche Verlustmeldung, as the aircraft apparently was less than 10% damaged. But I can confirm that he was wounded on this date. Unsure about the unit affiliation, as he is listed as part of II. Gruppe, not III. Gruppe (9. Staffel would be alloted to that Gruppe)

See attached loss record:

Regards,
Andreas B

Thanks both. Flugbuch says they took off from Cherson at 0810 hrs, landing 1215 hrs with the target as Kertsch. He was in a 9 Staffel machine having always flown in 9 Staffel.

No chance of holidays-still working in Bosnia until December! However, working on next book when time allows

Re: Oblt Willi Denker 9/KG 27

The information came from page 241 of :

Waiss, Walter. Boelcke-Archiv Band III ISBN 3-00-011983-3.

“He 111 H-6 that belly landed at Kirovograd” is a mistake. This was data that came from the same page but applied to another incident 1./KG 27 aircraft (Nr. 4261) which occurred the same day. I shall correct our files.

The Denker aircraft was:

He 111 H-6 (1G+BT) had taken off from Kherson at 08:10
landed at Kherson at 12:15 following an AA hit.

Sorry about the confusion.
