The (Helmut) Lent Papers

The late Peter Hinchcliffe based a book on these-where are the 'papers' now?

Re: The (Helmut) Lent Papers

Hi Chris,

Apologies, I have only just seen this post.

As you now know, the Lent Papers and his FBs are in the possession of his daughter, Christine, or they were back in the early 2000s.

Are you able to say what you are working on in relation to these papers?

All the best,

David

Re: The (Helmut) Lent Papers

Thank you.

Everyone I know who is already retired says the same, I'm hoping it's true.

Shift work and nights is a killer.

Will start writing again soon, it's been a long time since I wrote anything,

all the best

David

Re: The (Helmut) Lent Papers

David: To save you time emailing, I have been asked to do a number of bio articles and being in contact with Tina, and my interest in I./ZG 76 Lent was mooted. Trouble is all the medals were sold in 1966, the citations were all "acquired" by a British officer in 1945 and then sold in 1984 and anything else appears to have been stolen from her flat in the interim

Re: The (Helmut) Lent Papers

I do not have my reference material at hand, for some reason, I seem recall one of his K.C. citations as being sold at auction in the mid-to-late '80's, and this was reference in FlyPast magazine. I think the name was Lent...

Re: The (Helmut) Lent Papers

For what it's worth, I have over 30 years in book publishing (fiction) and have no desire to retire. My father retired and then decided to return to work part-time.
