Oberfeldwebel Siegfried Simon, 1.Kgr.100

Recently saw picture of Oberfeldwebel Siegfried Simon, 1.Kgr.100, with his crew in front of their He 111. Appears that the photograph was taken sometime in 1940.

Wanted to ask what are aircraft numbers (i.e., werk number and 6N+?H).

I reviewed the thread from January 2016, which discussed this pilot's career, etc., but did not find information on any of his aircraft.

You will have to be more specific about the photo; is it the one showing the last 2 digits of the Wk Nr & the viking ship badge?

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately the picture is a bit marginal, grainy, etc. The bulk of the photo is taken up by Ofw Simon and three other crew members, with only small portions of the He 111 visible in the distant background. Unable to see werk number and the Viking badge.

Am assuming that the aircraft codes are 6N+?H, "H" for 1st staffel, so I am just trying to find the missing letter - and the werk number, if is available.

This photo came from Simon, was used by Ken Wakefield in his book (these photos were then given to me by Ken but not this one) and itself is dreadful quality. You cannot even see what is behind them so the chances of any identification based on this photo is zero

I see that you mentioned another picture in earlier reply, with portion of werk number and the Viking badge. Do you have aircraft letter for this particular aircraft?
