Re: july 1943, Lancasters over north italy
Thank you Ross, this happens on the night from 15 to 16 july, but the following night (from 16 to 17) Reggio was hit again by some unknow Lancasters. These are believed to be from 617 sqn, but i have some doubt about. I guess that the four airmen never found of the DV167 was simply disitegrated by the blast of the bombs still on board. I have found some big bomb splinter in the crash site. The witness told me about a "Big Flash" followed by a loud bang when the plane hit the ground. In the following days, many little human remains was found over the roof of the nearby houses and in the field around the crash site. This is orrible, but this is the war.
