Ofw.Heinrich HUMBURG JG 26,JG 7
Hi,
A very interesting pilot of JG 26 was Ofw.Heinrich HUMBURG (* 10.10.1915), he participated in the war from beginning to end. He received a Spanish cross and swords for his performance in the Spanish Civil War. To III./JG 26 came 18.5.1940 from Erg.Jgr.Merseburg. Later he was with Lufdienstkdo. 2 / III. at Venlo Airport. He returned to 9./JG 26 on September 1, 1943, where he was wounded on December 16, 1943. At the beginning of 1945 he was at III./EJG 2 and from 19.3.1945 at JG 7. He allegedly shot down 7 aircraft (only 4 are documented in JG 26). Please does anyone have more information about this pilot? For example, what unit was he in Spain with. Thank you very much everyone Regards Tony |

I don't have anything to add, but as an aside my uncle was an instructor at Merseburg when this guy would have been trained there.
