Sunderland loss 13/11/43 423 Squadron
Could anyone please give me anymore details about the loss of this aircraft and the names of it's crew? Where did it start its operation from and was the cause of its loss ever determined?

From ORB... Air 27/ 1832
Sunderland J took off at 09.46 hrs. anti submarine escort. Sent message at 11.50 engine trouble followed by SOS four minutes later Liberator FK214 T 86 Squadron 3 hour search for missing Sunderland and two days later the same aircraft searched Donegal Bay area. An Anson from 275 Sqn Eglinton also searched the Donegal Bay area HTH Tony K |
