SKG10, 2nd January 1944

Hi,

Can anyone help with further details (ie, full crew names, dates of birth, EM, etc) for the following two crashes:

(Information from 'Blitz on Britain' Vol.3).
2nd January 1944.

1/SKG10.
Focke-Wulf FW190A ( ). Sortie to England. Shot down by RAF Mosquito of 96 Squadron and crashed at Camber Sands, East Sussex, 11.55pm. Pilot killed. Aircraft a write-off.

2 Fw190s from the same unit and on the same night were shot down, and it has been impossible to establish the identity of either wreck. Although both pilots were killed, no burial records can be found and remain missing. Aircraft were: Wk.nr.52528 flown by Lt. G. Stein, code TF+LR. Wk.nr.51403, flown by Lt. K. Krakhoffer (or Drakhoffer?), code BK+UW.

Thanks,
Steve

This is covered in full in my book Luftwaffe Hit and Run Raiders. Gerhard Stein and Karl Krakhofer were the two victims one by Flak at St Margarets at Cliffe and one into Rye Harbour by Norman Head. Both exploded still carrying bombs and no bodies were recovered hence none were buried. The Head family have a panel from the Rye crash but no markings to help identify who crashed where
