I./KG 76: Hptm Ulrich Koch - Ju 88 A-4 bomb exploded on take-off from Foggia-Tortorella, KIA 13.09.1943

Acc. to Henry L. deZeng IV, Douglas G. Stankey "Lw Career Summaries":

Hptm Ulrich Koch from I./KG 76 was KIA on 13.09.1943, when his Ju 88 A-4 was destroyed, because a bomb exploded during take-off from Foggia-Tortorella.

Re: I./KG 76: Hptm Ulrich Koch - Ju 88 A-4 bomb exploded on take-off from Foggia-Tortorella, KIA 13.09.1943

Matti and Jim,
Thank you very much for your help!
Please take a look o the attached photo, which shows a gravestone nearby Monte Cassino.

I am actually looking for the fate of Oberfeldwebel Theodor (Theo) Roeder. I was misleaded by the fact, that U. Roch and L. Mueller are listed together with him. Therefore I guessed, that they belonged to the same crew and the incident happened before 13.09.1943, since Roeder died already on 11.09.1943. I guessed that Roch and Mueller were severely injured and passed away two days later. But your answers show me, that this guess was wrong.

Therefore I would be grateful, if you could look up for me Oberfeldwebel Theodor (Theo) Roeder on 11.09.1943?

Thx and best regards, TCO
