RAF Detling casualties 13 August 1940

Hi guys

I'm endeavoring to establish the number of casualties as a result of the raid on RAF Detling, 13 August 1940.

Several sources imply 68 RAF personnel killed, but this would seem to be incorrect. Andy Saunders in "Stuka Attack" lists 24 RAF killed, plus three civilians killed, and 41 RAF injured. Presumably there were also army fatalities?

Can anyone enlighten me, please?

Stay safe
Brian

A quick look at the CWGC site shows there are only two civilians listed killed at Detling on this date while there are a number of Army casualties buried at Maidstone but where they were killed is not listed. You would have to look at regimental records for the latter
