Re: Pilot Officer J.C.Watson

Third and final plea,

Interesting research I think for this one. Pic attached. Anything on his service, or aircraft would be good. Thanks.

P/O John Watson who was the Observer on a special RAF ferry flight from Malta carrying as a passenger Air Marshal O.T. Boyd CB, OBE, MC, AFC. The aircraft crashed in Sicily, all crew were taken prisoner.

Re: Pilot Officer J.C.Watson

Danny,

You've got it backwards. Aircraft was on its way TO Malta when it was force-landed in Sicily. Wellington T2873 from No. 214 Sqn, ME Flight.

85693 John Cherry Watson. Ended up at Stalag Luft III. Last rank appears to be F/O.

Watson born Yorkshire 1916, deceased 1996.

Regards,

Dave
