Sorry for the long delay in answering both of you (and thanking both for the kind assistance). Colonel Bruggy: NO, never heard about those airmen before! Alex Smart: It seems (at least for me) that the pilot indeed made a Typo whilst registering this flight (apparently). Unless we do have all the modifications and a complete list from the models converted to Mark IX Transport troop version....but Col. Bruggy pointed the sources and the first (and it seems only) Mark IX version...Regarding the Types numbers, me too found it confusing (the Transport version)... Anyway, thanks again to both! May be connected, were Wellingtons that were used as Air Ambulance's. Were they referee to as Mk.IX 's ?
I have no idea as to which marks they were or what conversion's were made ? Alex |
