Dornier 17 down Aumale 8.6.40

Good morning folks,
can anybody help with details surrounding the loss of this Dornier 17 from II/KG76 in the Aumale area, France 8.6.40

Any help would be most appreciated.

Steve, all I could find was Do17Z crashed and burnt out at Aumale crew of Ltn. Schmidt (B) killed, anything in the new book about the air war over France?

not had chance to get Peter's book yet.
If fit enough i might see if i can get hold of it at
RAF Waddington nxt wk.end , at the annual air display!

To quote "The Battle of France, Then and Now" by P.Cornwell [After the Battle, 2007] he has this as a 5./KG76 Do17Z shot down west of Aumale and crashed at St.Martin-le-Gaillard. Lt.D.Schmidt, Obfw.A.Wiest, Fw.J.Sattele and Uffz.H.Immel (Waffen-Oberfw) killed. Uffz.N.Schwab baled out and captured unhurt. Aircraft a write-off...

Definitely worth shelling out your hard earned Steve

Uffz. Schwab returned from POW camp in Oct of 1940.
